Preparation of merchandise for Star Wars Celebration V, July 31, 2010: This is us working on vintage and new star wars action figures and toys for the pending star wars fan convention celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Empire Strikes Back. We did the star wars movie marathon while we worked on this stuff, and there's more...
Wizarding World of Harry Potter, July 17, 2010: Jack, Chief Operations Director from CMI Operations, LLC went to Universal's Islands of Adventure to scope out the new Harry Potter theme park with some guests.  The attention to detail is exceptional.  Even the staff are extremely friendly and pleasant to converse with, especially considering the blistering heat they are enduring right now in the wonderful Florida Summer.  It was not only extremely hot this day with no cloud cover but also very humid.  Read more...

Disney July 10, 2010: Jack, Chief Operations Director from CMI Operations, LLC went to Disneyland (actually Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios) in Orlando, FL. during one of the hottest and humid days of the year.  Oh what fun that was.  But, I did get to see the Star Tours ride before they shut it down after Star Wars Celebration 5.  I now know why they are going to shut it down.  It is really dated.  It still makes me think about Star Wars in the 70s.  Read more...

MegaCon, 2010: We attended the Mega Con Comic, Toy, and Anime Show in Orlando, FL., March 12-14. The show was larger than it has ever been as far as attendance.  There were over 100 media guests including comic artists and TV/Movie guests.  It was a busy show for the entire weekend.  On Friday, the exhibitor hall reminded me of a typical Saturday due to the volume of attendees already there by mid-afternoon.  Saturday was just ridiculous with so many people on the floor, you could barely walk an aisle.  more photos...

Dragon Con September 3-7, 2009:
The show seemed like there was record attendance again this year.  If you didn't get your badge by Thursday afternoon, you had about a two hour minimum wait with the line wrapping around an entire city block on three sides.  The steam punk theme was very prevalent this year including the steam punk themed band Abney Park putting on a great show to a packed ballroom.  We stayed up late and saw a lot of fantastic shows, all the while taking in plenty of eye candy and consuming significant amounts of "refreshing beverages".  We didn't host a room party this year, we just all hung out "loudly" in the adjoining rooms.  Some photos of the costumes are posted here

August, 2009:   Poker Art Website goes online introducing the FX Show Poker Art from the FX Show's 2009 Celebrity Poker Tournament held at the International Plaza Spa and Resort in Orlando, FL.   Preview of Art

FX Show, May 2009: The FX Show, short for the “Florida Extravaganza”, started in 1989 as a small toy and comic book convention celebrated its 20th Anniversary this year. It has now grown to be one of the largest entertainment and collectible venues in the U.S.  Through my company, CMI Operations, LLC, I usually work the show in some capacity, either as IT support, convention registration, or section manager.  I also have a retail booth for CMI Toys.  This year, I was a show floor assistant and my jobs entailed everything from supervising the FX Exclusives booth, network connectivity for registration, 2-way radio distribution, exhibitor booth support, to general task support as needed throughout the weekend. Read more...
